COLDSTREAM PARADE in COLDSTREAM 08/08/08
Monday, 04 August 2008

Our parade may not be quite as spectacular as the start of the 08/08/08 Olympic Games in China but the date and enthusiasm by those taking part and those watching will be of equal value AND THE SAME.

Fellow Coldstreamers / Drummers, A polite reminder regarding the 40th Anniversary parade in Coldstream this coming Friday 08/08/08.

Parade forms up at 10.30 hrs ready to step off at 11.00hrs. Guards Division Corps of Drums North, Members of Number 7 Company Coldstream Guards, Coldstream Association Branch Members and the Coldstream Cadet Detachment.

  • Hazelmere
  • Blaydon Races
  • Galanthia
  • Flag and Empire
  • The Adjutant

  • Red Cloak (for Dave)
  • Wild Geese

Corps News April 2008
Friday, 11 April 2008

Hi all,

Well as you can see thats me back safe and sound from Afghan, unfortunately the lads are still out there, Pebs and his boys are returning on the 13th April and Fitzy and his lads are returning on the 25th April.

The six months has gone extremely well, the lads have been coming into contact with the Taliban on many occassions, on one occassion Scott Fitzgerald was commanding the point section, he received effective enemy fire from only 30 metres away, he got pinned down in open grouund, we called for mortor fire, the MFC done an extremely good job with calling for fire within minutes, overall they fired 385 bombs onto 2 enemy positions which enabled scott and his section to extract into cover, thereafter we hammered the position with every gun available to us and that was a good sight.

Corps Of Drums News August 2007
Monday, 06 August 2007

Hi everybody, well things here have now now come to a halt as the Battalion are now on pre-deployment leave until early September. The last four months has seen us doing the Afghan training up and down the country.

We have completed numerous briefing days and alot of hard range packages. We have had 8 new draft come to the platoon which has now bolstered our numbers up to 25 which is good to see. Our main effort has been getting the blokes up to speed on Sf which has gone extremely well, however we have had the introduction to 2 new weapon systems, the 50 cal and the Grenade Machine Gun.
